As a curator, Mr. Zhang Yannan, Dean of Northeastern University College of Art, made a detailed and professional analysis of the works exhibited in this exhibition from an academic perspective. According to Mr. Zhang Yannan, the sculptures in the hands of Mr. Li Xiangqun have become a record and continuation of history, full of the artist's philosophical thoughts. In "Pile of Clouds - Pile of Snow", Mr. Li Xiangqun deconstructs historical figures, making them complete the modernity of placement and the writing of time flow; the red-themed works such as "The Red Star Shines in China" draw us back to the long-ago years through the portrayal of the gaze and attitude of the great men; in the blank faces of "The Way", the effect of crossing eternity in an instant is realized; in "Nurhachi" and "Kangxi Emperor", the human faces are replaced to move the coordinates of the ages, and the sculptures are made by the artist. In "Nurhachi" and "Kangxi Emperor", the chronological coordinates are shifted through face transposition, completing the recreation of the extension of time. All of these works have realized the expression of time by assigning complex historical consciousness and philosophical thinking to images. Mr. Zhang Yannan also mentioned that in addition to the grand intention of the themes of his works, Mr. Li Xiangqun has also demonstrated a constant creative innovation in the process of sculpting time, maintaining a transcendence of himself.
